Position Overview
As an Activity Assistant at {Facility Location} Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center
, you will assist the Activity Director in planning, organizing, and leading a variety of engaging activities for our residents. You will play a key role in ensuring residents enjoy a rich, meaningful daily routine, promoting social interaction, physical movement, and mental stimulation in a safe and supportive environment.

Key ResponsibilitiesAssist in planning and implementing engaging recreational, educational, and therapeutic activities for residents.
Lead or co-lead individual and group activities, such as arts and crafts, music, games, exercises, and social events.
Provide one-on-one engagement with residents, ensuring they are involved and actively participating in activities.
Assist in creating and maintaining individualized activity plans based on residents' interests, abilities, and needs.
Ensure activities are conducted in a safe and enjoyable manner, following infection control and safety procedures.
Monitor residents during activities, offering support and assistance as needed.
Encourage residents to engage in physical and cognitive activities to promote their overall well-being.
Document resident participation and provide feedback to the Activity Director on resident interests and progress.
Assist in planning special events, celebrations, and outings for residents.
Foster a positive, energetic atmosphere to encourage resident participation and create a warm, welcoming environment.
QualificationsPrevious experience working with older adults in a healthcare or long-term care setting is preferred, but not required.
Strong interest in recreational programming, with a passion for enhancing the lives of seniors.
Ability to lead and engage groups in fun, stimulating activities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with residents and families.
Compassionate, resident-focused attitude with a commitment to making a difference.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Creativity and enthusiasm to bring new and exciting activities to life.
