Position SummaryThe Oaks is seeking a knowledgeable and compassionate Infection Prevention & Wound Care Nurse to join our clinical leadership team. This role is responsible for overseeing the facility’s infection prevention and control program and providing expert assessment, treatment, and management of resident wounds.
The ideal candidate will be a skilled nurse with a passion for resident safety, quality care, and education. This is a full-time position offering competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package.
Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, implement, and monitor the facility’s Infection Prevention and Control Program in compliance with state and federal regulations.
Conduct infection surveillance, track trends, and implement interventions to prevent and control outbreaks.
Provide wound care management
, including assessment, treatment planning, dressing selection, and documentation for residents with acute or chronic wounds.Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary team members to promote effective wound healing and infection control practices.
Provide ongoing staff education and training on infection prevention, hand hygiene, standard precautions, and wound care procedures.
Monitor antibiotic use and assist in antimicrobial stewardship efforts.
Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement (QAPI) initiatives related to infection control and wound care.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with facility policies and regulatory requirements.
Current Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the State of Ohio (RN preferred).
Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in wound care, infection control, or a related field (long‑term care experience preferred).
Wound Care Certification (WCC, WOCN, or equivalent) strongly preferred or willingness to obtain certification.
Knowledge of infection control principles, CMS regulations, and best practices in long‑term care.
Excellent communication, assessment, and organizational skills.
