DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiac Step-Down Unit
Schedule: Full-Time, Dayshift
Shift: 3
* 12 Days
- Typically works every 3rd weekend
- Covers one holiday , subject to change based on census and staffing needs
- No routine on-call requirement , though the RN may be asked to take an occasional call day during periods of fluctuating census or staffing
- May be required to float to other units during low census or staffing crises (not expected regularly)
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to cardiac step-down patients
- Manage and monitor patients recovering from:
- Open-heart surgery
- Heart catheterization procedures
- Cardiac drips
- Provide care for ventilated patients as appropriate for the unit
- Monitor cardiac rhythms, hemodynamics, and clinical status
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans
- Accurately document patient care using Epic EMR
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum of three (3) years of cardiac step-down experience
- Required experience includes:
- Open-heart patients
- Ventilated patients
- Cardiac drips
- Post-op open heart and heart cath recovery
- Cardiac/medical-surgical step-down patients
- Epic EMR experience – REQUIRED
- BLS and ACLS certifications – REQUIRED
