Job Title

Staff Accountant

Opportunity

American Hospitality Management, Inc. is an award‑winning hotel management company that manages hotels across the United States. We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join our team in Zeeland, Michigan. The right candidate will demonstrate a high standard of customer service, strong work ethic, meticulous attention to detail, and a friendly, courteous demeanor toward colleagues and corporate staff.

Responsibilities
  • Adhere to the chart of accounts, input entries into correct accounts and ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
  • Prepare accounting records: financial statements, monthly reports, journal entries, and requests from taxing authorities.
  • Assist in monitoring cash for reconciliation and cash‑flow purposes.
  • Reconcile all balance‑sheet accounts.
  • Resolve bank and credit‑card issues, including fee anomalies.
  • Participate in year‑end closing of accounting records.
  • Assist with tax computations and returns, including sales & use, personal property, and other assigned tax returns.
  • Complete the orientation program: gain understanding of all operational departments, general ledger structure, financial statement preparation, and proficiency with M3 accounting software.
  • Ensure assets are safeguarded following policies and procedures.
  • Help implement and maintain internal financial controls and procedures.
  • Perform special projects as assigned.
