Schedule
Monday - Friday 5 a.m.

- 2:30 p.m.

Position Summary
Material Handler/Bander will be responsible for banding material and preparing for staging and shipping. They will need to have great attention to detail and the ability to work within set timelines. The Material Handler/Bander will need to demonstrate the ability to work safely and efficiently to ensure it is safe for transport.

Essential Responsibilities

• Ensures all orders are organized, leveled, and tightly built for transport.
• Bands material, safely using equipment provided to secure materials for shipment.
• Labels banded carts ensuring accuracy of units, destination, handler, etc.
• Sustains a clean work area by sweeping, rebinding loose bundles, keeping dust collector clean, etc. to prepare for the next shift.
• Communicates any discrepancies, product issues or safety issues with Supervisor.
• Complies with all company policies and procedures.
• May be required to successfully pass PIT training while following all safety requirements established within Novo. Performs other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications (Required)

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Effectively performs all essential functions, including physical requirements.
• Basic math, interpersonal/team, and reasoning skills.
• Use of proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and company approved tools while remaining aware of hazards, and maintaining a safe work environment. Ability to move awkward product lengths and weights.
• Ability to read, understand and carry out written procedures and standard work instructions.
• Flexibility in scheduling - able to work overtime as needed.

• Prior experience in distribution or manufacturing environment

• Able to withstand exposure to seasonal weather elements and wood dust.
• 100%:
  Stand, handle or feel, squeeze or grasp.
• 80%:
  Reaching with hands and arms, depth perception.
• 50%:
  Walk, repetitive motion, operate moving equipment.
• 10%:
  Working bent at waist, stoop, kneel, crouch, bending, or twisting.
• May Lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs. without assistance.
