Creative Dining Services is looking for a Dietary Cook Supervisor at Royal Park in Zeeland, MI.

The Dietary Cook Supervisor plays a key role in delivering high-quality food service in an assisted living environment. This position combines hands-on cooking and serving with leadership responsibilities, including supervising employees and coordinating with resident aides employed by the client. The Dietary Cook Supervisor ensures food quality, service standards, and operational procedures are consistently met while fostering a respectful and productive work environment.

Schedule

10am to 6:30 pm

Monday through Friday and every other weekend.

Drug Screen, Background Check and Fingerprinting Required.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities
  • Prepare meals according to established recipes and menus, ensuring taste, quality, and presentation meet expectations.
  • Use batch cooking techniques to maintain freshness and reduce waste.
  • Monitor food temperatures and maintain production records.
  • Ensure proper labeling of allergens and safe food handling practices.
  • Serve meals to residents in a friendly, efficient manner.
  • Ensure serving lines are properly garnished and stocked.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in dining and serving areas.
  • Communicate with residents and staff to ensure satisfaction and resolve minor concerns.
  • Train and mentor young employees, ensuring adherence to portion control, hygiene, and service standards.
  • Monitor performance, provide feedback, and address conflicts or productivity issues.
  • Ensure closing procedures are completed and the facility is secured.
  • Communicate operational challenges and staffing concerns to management.
  • Work collaboratively with the client’s supervisor to address issues involving resident aides and maximize their support.
Physical Demands/Work Environment
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
  • Work involves standing, moving, and using kitchen equipment for extended periods.
  • Environment may include hot, humid, or cold conditions.

Methods to perform essential job functions will be reasonably accommodated to allow individuals with disabilities to perform them.

Education – Skills – Expectations
  • Minimum 2 years of cooking experience in a commercial or institutional setting.
  • Strong understanding of food quality, taste, and presentation.
  • Experience supervising and training staff, preferably in food service.
  • Serv Safe and Serv Safe Allergen certifications (training provided if needed).
  • Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Must maintain professionalism and a positive, can-do attitude.
