Qualifications:
Possesses appropriate administrative license and experience in the related field of supervision. Prior experience in school administration and teacher evaluation is strongly desired. Prior high school teaching experience, preferred. Qualities:

Zion-Benton Township High School District 126 comprises two high school campuses serving approximately 2,500 students in grades 9-12. District 126 serves the diverse student populations of Beach Park, Wadsworth, Winthrop Harbor, and Zion communities.
Zion-Benton Township High School is located in the western portion, and Zion-Benton East High School in the central portion of the town of Zion. The two campuses offer dynamic choices to families between two differing high school life experiences, but toward a singular goal "To ensure that students graduate ready for college, a career, and life." Serves as a member of the administrative management team, providing instructional department leadership in the areas of curriculum, instruction, and assessment; instructional coaching; staff development programs; recruitment, hiring, and evaluation of certified staff; and related day-to-day supportive management tasks. Is responsible for making sure practices and procedures align to current district goals and ensure positive increases in outcomes as outlined in our Strategic Plan, including, but not limited to, proficiency, graduation rate, and student success in advanced coursework.
1. Serves as a member of the administrative management team, working collaboratively with the administration and other support personnel on improving instruction and academic achievement aligned with the School Improvement Plan.
2. Sets data-driven goals reflective of district and building-level goals aimed at improving achievement outcomes in the departments managed. Regularly utilizes data to monitor and report on progress.
3. Serves as the instructional leader who regularly monitors department curriculum, instruction, and assessment to ensure curriculum is culturally relevant, instruction is culturally responsive, and assessment and grading practices are equitable.
4. Collaborates with other administrators to coordinate and facilitate the administration of standardized testing, including AP and ACT testing.
5. Collaborates with the administrative team on the development and facilitation of all staff development initiatives, including institute days, teacher training, and coaching, after school, summer & courses for educational advancement, data analysis, peer observation, mentor/mentee program, etc.
6. Facilitates instructional rounds in order to continuously improve instruction toward district goals, ensuring instruction reflects content area best practice, is student-centered, and critically engaging and providing ongoing feedback and professional learning based on instructional rounds.
