Job Title: Entomology Laboratory Technician

Location: Indianapolis, IN 46077

Duration: 12+ Months Contract

Shift: Monday to Friday; 40 hours/week; 7:00am - 3:30pm

Base pay range: $21.12/hr - $21.12/hr

Pay Rate: $21.12/hr on W-2 (all inclusive)

Summary: Wanted individual capable of working with insects, plant material, and nematodes while completing routine, highly detailed work. Previous laboratory experience preferred. Work environments vary between laboratory, greenhouse, and insectary colonies. A strong safety culture requires adherence to all safety and ergonomic standards. Extensive training in safety, ergonomics, and laboratory SOPs provided.

• Clipping/thinning plants used in testing.
• Hands-on infesting of plant and artificial diet material with various (non-stinging, non-hazardous) insect species.
• Routine assay formulation using manual pipettes.
• Specialized assay application using hand sprayers and track sprayers.
• Preparation of media used in entomology testing.
• Scribing for evaluators.

• Self-driven individual that also works well in a diverse group setting.
• Flexibility to shift focus throughout the day as needed to meet customer demands.
• Willing to work independently and with a team as needed. Self-initiated and desire to learn.
• Strong communication and time management skills.
• Ability to follow directions and protocols.
• Must have work experience. Does not need to be related to lab work, but must have had any job previously.
