Job Summary:

Wanted individual capable of working with insects, plant material, and nematodes while completing routine, highly detailed work. Previous laboratory experience preferred. Work environments vary throughout the day between laboratory, greenhouse, and insectary colonies. Strong culture of safety requires individuals to adhere to all safety and ergonomic standards. Extensive training in safety, ergonomics, and laboratory SOPs provided.

Responsibilities:

• Clipping/thinning plants used in testing.
• Hands-on infesting of plant and artificial diet material with various (non-stinging, non-hazardous) insect species.
• Routine assay formulation using manual pipettes.
• Specialized assay application using hand sprayers and track sprayers.
• Preparation of media used in entomology testing.
• Scribing for evaluators

Requirements:

• Self-driven individual that also works well in a diverse group setting.
• Flexibility to shift focus throughout the day as needed to meet customer demands.
• Willing to work independently and with a team as needed. Self-initiated and desire to learn.
• Strong communication and time management skills
• Ability to follow directions and protocols
• Must have work experience. Does not need to be related to lab work, but must have had any job previously.

Educational Requirements:

• BS in Biology/Entomology

Safety and Compliance:

• Adherence to Corteva Safety Protocols:
  Understands and follows EH&S standards. Use of safety procedures & appropriate PPE mandated. Compliance with laboratory safety procedures.
