Automotive Wheel Refinishing Technician - Entry level​/Paid Training

Tru Wheel Solutions is looking for an entry-level technician who wants to learn a specialized automotive trade and develop into a highly skilled wheel refinishing technician.

Previous wheel repair experience is not required. We provide hands-on training.

What matters most to us is mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, reliability, pride in workmanship, willingness to learn, and the ability to eventually work independently.

This is a full-time, Monday–Friday position based out of Zionsville, Indiana. Our technicians work both from our shop and from mobile repair units serving customers and automotive dealerships throughout the Indianapolis area.

You'll be trained in our complete alloy wheel repair and refinishing process, including:

• Surface preparation and sanding
• Repairing curb damage and cosmetic wheel damage
• Masking and refinishing
• Automotive paint and clear coat application
• Color and finish matching
• Wheel and tire handling
• Using professional refinishing tools and equipment
• Quality-control procedures
• Protecting customer vehicles and property
• Setting up and completing mobile repair work
• Eventually diagnosing and completing repairs independently

As your skills develop, you'll have the opportunity to learn more advanced repair processes and take on greater responsibility.

You do not need previous wheel repair experience.

Experience in automotive work, painting, detailing, body work, mechanical work, fabrication, construction, or another hands‑on trade can be helpful, but it is not required.

Starting pay is $20 per hour, with higher starting pay available for candidates with directly relevant automotive, refinishing, painting, or mechanical experience.

As training progresses and you demonstrate consistent quality, reliability, independence, and production, additional production‑based compensation becomes available.

Our goal is not to keep someone in an entry‑level role permanently.

Technicians who develop strong skills, produce high‑quality work, and become capable of managing jobs independently can progress into higher compensation, more advanced work, and greater responsibility as Tru Wheel grows.

• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
• Reliable transportation to our Zionsville location
• Ability to safely operate company vehicles once approved
• Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work around vehicles throughout the day
• Ability to lift and handle wheels, tires, tools, and equipment
• Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors
• Willingness to travel locally to customer and dealership locations
• Dependable attendance
• Willingness to learn and follow established processes
