To support this growth, we are seeking a motivated professional with a building MEP engineering background to drive high-quality design and construction of our facilities.
In the Infrastructure Development team, you’ll lead the creation of mechanical and electrical specifications, standard designs, and process improvements for construction projects. Your ability to harmonize the complexities of EMEA regulations and requirements concisely will empower project teams to streamline design, tendering, building, and facility management — delivering consistent, top-quality results across our portfolio.
What You"ll Do- Lead the development of concise HVAC, electrical, lighting, and plumbing related specification, standard, requirement, and guideline documents to be used for project tenders and construction.
- Dimension and define technical parameters for power distribution & HVAC systems, equipment, and components, with an aim of standardizing systems.
- Facilitate consultations and workshops with internal teams, external consultants, and stakeholders to align on design standards and resolve project challenges.
- Mentor project teams and buyers on best practices, providing ongoing guidance to ensure consistency and efficiency across projects.
- Own and improve power upgrade processes, including tools, guides, and work with utility providers.
- Manage audits for quality, safety, and maintenance of MEP systems of existing, new, and potential locations.
- Identify opportunities and then propose, evaluate, prioritize, and execute initiatives to improve quality, cost, and speed across projects.
- Assist in engaging external design consultants for technical engineering design and take a leading role in evaluating their proposals and reviewing their designs.
- Take a leading role in building, nurturing, and leveraging relationships with internal and external stakeholders including with Gigafactory & Supercharger teams.
- Be the go-to person for all things related to MEP for our projects, consultants, and other stakeholders. Your technical expertise will help to resolve issues creatively and thoroughly.
- University degree or equivalent training in a MEP related field.
- Proven experience (5+ years) in the MEP sector, including 3+ years in designing and specifying MEP systems for buildings. Experience with small to medium commercial (retail or industrial) new-build and renovation projects is a plus.
- Experience with medium and low voltage power distribution (above and below ground), heating & ventilation systems, lighting systems, grounding protection. Knowledge in related areas like very low voltage systems, IT infrastructure, AV, security, fire alarms, utility providers, high-voltage upgrades, plumbing, drainage, and solar systems advantageous.
- Familiarity with IEC and European standards (e.g. VDE, DIN, EN 16798), skills in handling diverse regulations and adapting them for cross-border projects a plus.
- Track record of creating specifications, design drawings, and documents for tendering and building electrical systems.
- Experience in monitoring construction, commissioning, verifying work completion, reviewing quality documents, and handling tenders.
- Proven leadership in coordinating teams, managing projects (including timelines, resources, and deliverables), and overseeing designs from multiple disciplines and vendors to create unified construction sets.
- Strong collaboration skills: thrive in team settings, explain complex ideas clearly, engage stakeholders to build trust and consensus, and solve problems thoroughly by addressing root causes.
- Excellent English communication skills (including technical terms); additional European languages like German or French are desirable.
- Willingness to travel in EMEA up to 10%.
