We are looking for a Head of Finance for a Reinsurance Company.

• Oversee all general ledger activities in SAP, including postings, reconciliations, period closings, and maintenance of key master data.
• Ensure proper application of accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
• Manage securities accounting in cooperation with external partners.
• Lead accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed asset accounting.
• Coordinate payment processes, cash handling, and expense management.
• Serve as the primary contact for banks, service providers, auditors, and internal audit.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements under relevant statutory and regulatory frameworks.
• Produce regulatory filings and tax-related submissions, including VAT and withholding tax reclaims.
• Deliver liquidity analyses, budget vs. actual reports, and ad-hoc evaluations.
• Maintain and develop the internal control system (ICS).
• Lead and develop the finance accounting team.
• Support the Head of Finance and contribute to cross‑functional projects.
• Prepare internal reports and analyses as needed.

• Strong decision‑making skills within your area of responsibility.
• Proven leadership experience in finance or accounting.
• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or equivalent qualification.
• Several years of professional experience in financial accounting or controlling, ideally in a regulated environment.
• Strong expertise in SAP (FI; experience with CFM is a plus).
• Solid understanding of accounting standards and regulatory reporting.
• Confident in preparing financial statements and managing end‑to‑end accounting processes.
• Experience with ICFR/ICS frameworks is an advantage.
• Strong analytical skills, precision, and a structured working style.
• Proven leadership experience or clear potential to lead a team.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Fluent German and English required.
