Chief Financial Officer; CFO

We are looking for an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the finance function and play a key role in shaping the next stage of growth of a renewable energy company.

As a member of the leadership team, the CFO will work closely with the CEO, management team and Board to drive financial strategy, project financing, profitability and investment decisions
, while leading and developing the finance team and building the processes and financial infrastructure required to scale the business.

The role combines strategic leadership with a strong hands-on approach in a fast-growing and entrepreneurial environment.

• Define and lead the financial strategy
  , aligning financial planning, capital allocation and risk management with the company’s growth and investment objectives.
• Take full responsibility for finance, controlling, treasury, tax and management reporting
  .
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and long-term business planning, including analysis of P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, costs, overheads and liquidity.
• Oversee monthly closing and controlling processes, including the reconciliation of commercial and statutory financial results across entities.
• Evaluate new renewable energy projects and investment opportunities in collaboration with commercial, sales and analyst teams, developing financial models, business cases and scenario analyses.
• Assess project economics, including CAPEX, OPEX and margins
  , and provide actionable financial recommendations to management.
• Lead project finance and debt financing initiatives
  , including financing documentation, negotiations and coordination with banks, lenders and internal stakeholders.
• Advise the CEO and management team on financing strategy, investment decisions, financial risk, M&A, joint ventures, partnerships and strategic investments.
• Manage pricing, profitability, intercompany service agreements and transfer-pricing arrangements, in coordination with tax and legal advisers.
• Strengthen financial governance, internal controls, finance systems and processes while supporting the development of the finance function as the company grows.
• Act as a strategic business partner to the CEO and management team across commercial, operational, financing and investment decisions.

• 7+ years of relevant finance experience, including senior responsibility as Finance Director, Head of Finance or similar.
• Experience in renewable energy, energy infrastructure, EPC, utilities, cleantech or another project-driven industry.
• Strong experience in project finance, debt financing, capital raising and financial modelling.
• Excellent knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, cash management, controlling, reporting and project profitability.
• Experience working with banks, investors, Boards and auditors.
• Native German and fluent English.
