Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate its Orthopaedics business to establish a standalone orthopaedics company, DePuy Synthes. The separation is expected to be completed within 18 to 24 months. Upon completion, the selected candidate will become an employee of DePuy Synthes under its employment processes, policies, and benefit plans.
This role is responsible for managing and executing procurement category strategies across Business Services and IT, while serving as a key procurement engagement partner to International Markets. Operating in a global, matrixed environment, the Manager will translate business needs into sourcing strategies, support supplier relationship management, and help deliver cost, service, innovation, and sustainability outcomes that enable DePuy Synthes’ growth.
Key Responsibilities- Support the development and execution of category strategies for Business Services and IT in alignment with business priorities and procurement strategy.
- Partner with International Market stakeholders to understand demand, align sourcing approaches, and ensure consistent execution of procurement strategies.
- Manage supplier relationships within assigned categories, including performance tracking, issue resolution, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead or support sourcing initiatives, including RFPs, competitive bidding events, and contract negotiations within defined authority levels.
- Analyze spend, market trends, and supplier data to generate insights that inform sourcing decisions and category plans.
- Support delivery of financial targets, service improvements, innovation opportunities, and responsible sourcing objectives.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, financial controls, and responsible supplier standards.
- Leverage procurement tools, systems, and analytics to improve efficiency, visibility, and decision‑making.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with Finance, IT, Legal, and Business partners to enable successful sourcing and supplier outcomes.
- Education — Bachelor’s degree required in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Information Systems, or related field.
- MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
- Required Experience — Minimum 6 years in procurement, category management, sourcing, or a related discipline.
- Experience supporting or managing Business Services and/or IT services categories.
- Working knowledge of sourcing processes, supplier management, and contract negotiation.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret spend, market, and supplier performance data.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in a matrixed, global environment.
- Solid communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Proficiency with Excel and familiarity with procurement systems and digital tools.
- Preferred — Experience supporting international or regional markets.
- Exposure to multi‑year category planning or sourcing roadmaps.
- Familiarity with digital, automation, or AI‑enabled procurement tools.
- Experience contributing to continuous improvement or procurement transformation initiatives.
- Understanding of sustainability and responsible sourcing practices.
- Language:
English required; additional languages preferred. - Travel:
Up to 10% domestic and international. - Certifications (preferred) — CPSM, CIPS, or equivalent procurement certification.
