Location: Zürich
We are seeking a passionate Senior Specialist Accounting to join our EMEA Accounting team for a 9‑month maternity leave coverage (ideally from September to the end of May). In this temporary role, your primary mission will be to maintain continuity and excellence in our core accounting operations across all EMEA entities. While your main focus will be on keeping the daily wheels turning in our fast‑paced environment, your strong systems affinity will also help support our ongoing process improvements.
Yourmission
- Core Accounting Operations:
Ensure proper financial accounting as well as the timely and compliant monthly, quarterly, and year‑end closing & reporting processes for all EMEA entities, in accordance with Group accounting policies (IFRS) and local GAAP. - Statutory Compliance:
Manage local statutory account filings across all entities in collaboration with external service providers. - Internal Controls:
Conduct internal controls in accordance with Group requirements in a Sarbanes‑Oxley (SOX) controls environment. - Cross‑Functional
Collaboration:
Partner internally with cross‑functional teams to keep systems aligned and ensure day‑to‑day accounting and finance requirements are met. - Process & Business Continuity:
Support the adaptation of accounting processes to align with business changes (such as new Marketplaces), and identify baseline opportunities for automation and operational streamlining where feasible. - Ad Hoc Support:
Contribute to exciting ad hoc and project tasks in an emerging environment as needed.
- 4–7 years of experience in accounting or broader Finance in an agile and fast‑paced environment.
- Proven ability to step in quickly, take ownership of multiple financial matters simultaneously, and maintain operational stability in a dynamic setting.
- Experience and ability to identify operational improvement opportunities and provide solutions to streamline processes.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to work independently and keep core processes running smoothly.
- An outstanding communicator and collaborator with the ability to quickly build trust and influence a wide range of stakeholders.
- Highly tech‑literate with strong general systems skills; proficient in navigating major ERP systems (ideally MS Dynamics 365 F&O) and comfortable leveraging tools that drive automation and leverage AI to optimize financial workflows.
For this role, the typical salary band is €66,000 – 75,000. Individual compensation packages may vary according to the candidate’s performance against pre‑determined, role‑specific competencies and qualifications.
