Legal Entity Accountant

Join Vontobel’s Finance team in a highly visible role with international exposure, where you will serve as the primary finance contact and Legal Entity Accountant for Bank Vontobel AG’s Milan Branch and SIM Milano. Acting as the key link between Zurich-based Group Finance and local stakeholders in Italy, you will ensure accurate IFRS accounting and financial reporting while coordinating statutory accounting, tax, and audit activities with external service providers.

This is a unique opportunity to combine technical accounting expertise with legal entity ownership and cross-border stakeholder management. You will play a key role in regulatory and statutory reporting, support the Group consolidation process, and contribute to the continuous enhancement of finance processes within Vontobel’s SAP S/4

HANA environment.

• Act as the designated Legal Entity Accountant for the Milan Branch of Bank Vontobel AG and SIM Milano, ensuring end-to-end ownership of the accounting and financial reporting processes.
• Ensure accurate and timely IFRS accounting for all business transactions and deliver complete monthly, quarterly and annual financial close activities.
• Coordinate the preparation of statutory financial statements and local regulatory accounting deliverables together with external accounting and tax service providers in Italy.
• Serve as the primary finance interface between the Zurich Booking Hub, local Italian contractors, auditors, Tax, Regulatory Reporting and other internal stakeholders to ensure efficient collaboration and compliance.
• Perform, review and monitor accounting activities in SAP S/4
  
  HANA, ensuring the correct accounting treatment of branch, intercompany and legal entity transactions.
• Support the Group consolidation process by preparing reporting packages, reconciliations and other consolidation-related deliverables for both entities.
• Drive continuous improvements of accounting processes, internal controls and data quality while ensuring compliance with IFRS, Group Accounting Policies and regulatory requirements.

• Higher education in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance, or a commercial apprenticeship with further qualifications in accounting (e.g. Swiss Federal Diploma in Finance and Accounting, Certified Fiduciary).
• 8-12 years of accounting experience within the banking or financial services industry with comprehensive knowledge of IFRS accounting and financial close processes.
• Proven experience acting as a Legal Entity Accountant with end-to-end responsibility for monthly, semi-annually and annual financial reporting.
• Strong practical experience with SAP, ideally SAP S/4
  
  HANA, including general ledger accounting, financial close and legal entity accounting processes.
• Experience working with Italian legal entities or bank branches, including coordination of statutory accounting, local financial statements and external accounting providers in Italy.
• Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills with a proactive, structured and hands-on approach, capable of operating independently in an international and cross-functional environment.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken;
  German & Italian is considered an advantage.
