Senior Accounting Manager

For an international company in the Zurich area, we are looking for an experienced Senior Accounting Manager with strong technical accounting expertise and a hands-on mindset.

The role combines operational accounting responsibility with the opportunity to contribute to the further development of the finance organization, particularly its future SOX/internal control environment.

• Take ownership of monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing activities
• Review journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Support financial statement preparation and consolidation
• Contribute to the development of SOX/internal controls
• Coordinate and support external audits
• Drive accounting process improvements and automation
• Support accounting policies, compliance, and technical accounting topics
• Gradually take on leadership responsibility within the accounting team

• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong hands-on accounting and closing expertise
• Practical experience with SOX and internal control frameworks
• Good knowledge of IFRS and/or Swiss GAAP FER
• Experience with financial statements and ideally consolidation/group accounting
• Fluent English and at least basic conversational German
• Experience in an international SME or smaller listed company is an advantage
• Dynamics 365 Business Central, Power BI, Workiva, and Life Sciences experience are additional advantages
