Die Ausbildungsdauer beträgt 4 Jahre und umfasst die Prüfung von Verbrennungsmotoren, alternativen Antriebskonzepten sowie Diagnose- und Wartungsarbeiten an Fahrwerk, Motor, Elektrik, Elektronik, Komfort- und Sicherheitssystemen.
Voraussetzung ist der Abschluss der Oberstufe und der AGVS Eignungstest. Schulische Leistungen in Deutsch, Mathematik und Physik müssen mindestens 4,5 betragen.
