Established in 2025, Hexagon Robotics develops humanoid robots for industrial sectors to address labor shortages and enable the transition from automation to autonomy. As a Principal Robotics System Architect, you will oversee the system architecture for the robotics subsystem throughout the entire development lifecycle. Your responsibilities will include close coordination with stakeholders, specialized robotics teams, and subject matter experts to design effective solutions that fulfill product requirements. You will define and manage system-level requirements, ensuring that all engineering teams remain aligned with the project’s goals and technical standards.
YourMission
- Lead the architecture of robotics systems from concept to deployment, ensuring consistency across all development phases
- Collaborate with stakeholders, cross-functional teams, and domain experts to design solutions that meet product needs
- Define and manage system requirements for robotics algorithms and platform dependencies, ensuring clear communication and adherence
- Work with leadership and product management to assess feasibility and impact of new use cases and applications
- Maintain system documentation, including architecture diagrams, interface specifications, and design guides
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks to ensure efficient, reliable, and scalable architectures
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in robotic system design
- Proactively identify and mitigate technical risks throughout the project lifecycle
- Coordinate system integration across robotics functions to ensure seamless operation and compatibility
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline
- At least 15 years of relevant industry experience, including a minimum of 5 years specializing in system architecture design, ideally within the mobile robotics sector
- Strong expertise in robotic system design, with a thorough understanding of sensor fusion, control algorithms, and perception systems
- Proficiency in mechatronic system design, robotics sensory systems, real-time computing, and software design patterns
- Experience with integration of AI and machine learning sub-systems, as well as autonomous robots is a strong plus
- Familiarity with both resource-constrained embedded systems and high-performance computing platforms
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a demonstrated capacity to manage and balance trade-offs between engineering effort, system performance and scalability
