Senior Oracle Exadata Engineer

We are supporting our client, a premier Swiss financial infrastructure provider based in Zürich
, in the recruitment of a Senior Oracle Exadata Engineer
. This is a high-impact, senior consultancy role designed for an expert who thrives in mission-critical environments.

As part of a specialized database engineering team, you will be responsible for the architecture, implementation, and end-to-end optimization of Oracle Exadata Database Machines. You will manage virtualized KVM hosts supporting complex workloads (OLTP, DW, and mixed), ensuring that the backbone of our client's financial services remains performant, scalable, and secure.

• Drive Exadata capacity planning and architectural evolution.
• Design and implement High Availability (HA) solutions using RAC.
• Engineer robust Disaster Recovery (DR) strategies utilizing (Active) Data Guard.
• Architect backup and recovery frameworks via RMAN.

• Maximize Exadata-specific features including Smart Scan, Hybrid Columnar Compression (HCC), and IORM.
• Perform deep-dive performance tuning using AWR, ASH, and sophisticated SQL analysis.
• Conduct I/O optimization and proactive capacity management to stay ahead of growth.

• Lead complex upgrades and migrations using Data Guard and other advanced methodologies.
• Manage the full patching and lifecycle of Exadata X-Series hardware and software.
• Handle incident and change management following ITIL best practices.
• Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and security teams to maintain strict compliance standards.

• Experience:
  
  7+ years of experience in Oracle Database Engineering/Administration, with at least 3+ years of dedicated hands-on experience with Oracle Exadata.
• Exadata Expertise
  :
  Deep technical knowledge of Exadata X-Series, Storage Indexes, Smart Scan, and HCC.
• Core Mastery:
  Expert-level proficiency in Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, and RMAN.
• System Admin
  
  Skills:
  
  Strong Linux administration skills and experience managing virtualized KVM hosts.
• Monitoring:
  Proficiency in Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) for proactive monitoring and alerting.
• Education:
  
  University degree (Bachelor's, Master's, or FH) in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• Communication:
  Excellent command of English; strong communication skills to bridge the gap between technical execution and stakeholder requirements.
