Senior Research Engineer - Scale Systems

This world leading technology developer is seeking a Senior Research Engineer to be based at their R+D Centre in Zurich. The Senior Research Engineer will be tasked to research emerging Large Scale Systems including serverless databases, cloud infrastructures and enterprise applications (including recommender systems, serverless systems and modern databases). The Senior Research Engineer will also be looking at memory and performance improvement for these emerging cloud-based applications.

Having completed your PhD you will have gained several years post doc. Experience working in a research position in either industry or academia. You will be able to demonstrate a deep knowledge of modern enterprise applications (recommender systems, serverless systems, modern cloud-based databases) and memory / networking systems (virtual memory, coherence protocols, RDMA, NUMA etc.). You should have an in-depth understanding of serverless databases and cloud infrastructures and how these relate to memory and performance.

Any exposure to DLRM, Vector

DB, Google Spanner, AI or similar would be beneficial.
