- The Sr Manager Packaging Innovation is the technical expert lead for luxury packaging innovation, focusing on new materials, breakthrough technologies, sustainability advances, and next‑generation luxury experiences.
- Continuously scouts emerging technologies, industry trends, and luxury competitor innovations, proactively generating and proposing innovative and future‑fit packaging concepts (Blue Sky) that strengthen La Prairie’s leading position in luxury skincare innovation.
- Drives the end‑to‑end development of innovative packaging solutions in close collaboration with internal and external partners, ensuring alignment with legal, quality, strategic, cost, and market requirements, while securing feasibility for filling and packing operation, including complete documentation (SAP, SOPs, testing, regulatory data, specifications, etc.) before handover to Industrialization and Manufacturing teams.
- Ensures that packaging innovation concepts meet all compliance, sustainability, and regulatory requirements through close coordination with the Sustainability and Regulatory teams.
- Identifies, evaluates, and approves suppliers based on technical innovation capabilities, aligning selection with strategic procurement criteria to strengthen La Prairie’s packaging innovation ecosystem.
- Leads the exploration and development of new packaging concepts and technologies, focusing on advanced materials, new formats, and breakthrough luxury experiences (Blue Sky).
- Drives early‑stage technical assessments, prototyping, and feasibility validation of innovative solutions in collaboration with internal experts and external partners.
- Oversees the design, engineering, and validation of new moulds and tooling required for innovative packaging concepts, ensuring technical feasibility prior to handover to Industrialisation and Manufacturing.
- Leads or supports innovation‑driven optimization initiatives, integrating new technologies or process enhancements to improve performance or sustainability.
- Evaluates the technical capabilities and innovation maturity of suppliers, supporting supplier development to ensure access to cutting‑edge technologies.
- Ensures that innovation concepts are supported by structured technical data and documentation, while not owning operational master data.
- Supports the creation of innovation‑related contracts, technical agreements, and IP‑relevant documentation for new technologies or materials.
- Prepares and maintains all relevant innovation documentation, including feasibility reports, prototype specifications, testing documentation, and early‑stage SAP/SOP inputs used for concept transfer.
- Continuously improves the innovation testing framework, including methods, validation protocols, and release criteria, ensuring robust evaluation of new concepts and technologies.
- Contributes to the development of future‑ready processes that enable effective scale‑up of innovative concepts into solution (Blue Sky - Process).
- Acts as the central interface with Supply Chain, Marketing, Sustainability, R&D, and Quality to enable smooth integration of new packaging ideas and technologies into the long‑term roadmap.
- Ensures clear reporting of innovation pipeline progress, risks, feasibility outcomes, and strategic recommendations.
- Conducts early‑stage risk assessments of new materials, technologies, and filling/assembly implications to ensure future manufacturability and business continuity.
