Bioprocess Engineer

Open Position in Urdorf (Zürich, Switzerland) Bio Process Engineer

We are looking for a Bioprocess Engineer for our Science and Research department.

You will be part of a multidisciplinary collaboration with the goal of developing innovative products. Your role includes implementing process design and bioprocess development for bacterial and cell culture systems, operating automation platforms such as Lucullus PIMS, and contributing to product innovation. You will work in an agile, highly collaborative environment, ensuring successful process validation and continuous improvement.

• Academic engineering degree in bioprocess technology (MSc or equivalent) specializing in fermentation and process design of cell- and bacteria cultures, or a similar focus. 2-3 years of biotechnologist experience in bioprocess engineering or a PhD is highly advantageous.
• Experience as an individual contributor on multidisciplinary projects involving bioprocess monitoring, control, automation, qualification, and optimization of innovative systems. Knowledge of Lucullus PIMS is advantageous.
• Strong analytical, solution‑oriented mindset with effective communication skills and ability to work independently within a team.
• Hands‑on experience with qualification and optimization during product development phases, including upstream processes, documentation, and reporting.
• Ability to plan and execute experiments based on experimental design (DOE), use analytical methods, and code in Python and MATLAB.
• Fluency in German and English.
• Legal right to work in Switzerland.
