Role Description

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will work on the mechanical and sys tem-level design of our platform, driving it from late prototype stage through to robust, field-deployable, production-ready systems. This role requires hands-on mechanical design skills to develop rugged solutions for operation in harsh environments, with a clear path to production, and field qualification. The role is ideal for someone who thrives on mechanical challenges where every design decision di rectly impacts optical system performance.

Responsibilities
  • Design and model mechanical components and assemblies using CAD software.
  • Own the mechanical realization of system integration considering tolerances, requirements on interfaces and spatial constraints.
  • Develop rugged, compact, and serviceable enclosures for field-deployable systems.
  • Ensure component manufacturability, serviceability, and integration readiness.
  • Design and execute test plans for mechanical, thermal, and vibration robustness.
  • Analyze failure modes and implement design improvements to enhance reliability and lifetime.
Qualifications
  • Proven proficiency with 3D CAD software and PDM (Solid Works preferred).
  • Proven experience with designing mechanical systems around optical assemblies.
  • Experience working in a multidisciplinary R&D or product development environment.
  • More than 3 years of experience in a hardware related role.
  • Ability to translate high-level system requirements into mechanical design.
  • Proactive and detail-oriented mindset.
