R&D Test Engineer - High Voltage; f​/m​/d

Overview

Join our R&D team within High Voltage Products in Zurich‑Oerlikon and contribute to the development of high‑voltage circuit breakers that support reliable power transmission worldwide.

In this role, you will be responsible for testing and validating high‑voltage equipment throughout the product development cycle. You will work closely with R&D engineers, technical experts, laboratory teams, and external testing partners.

• Plan and execute high‑voltage and high‑power test campaigns
• Define test programs based on project and certification requirements
• Coordinate testing activities with laboratories and project stakeholders
• Lead and support testing activities together with laboratory experts
  
  Analyze test results and prepare technical reports
• Investigate technical issues and contribute to effective solutions
• Improve testing methods, processes, and knowledge sharing activities
• Support global R&D projects for high‑voltage switching technologies

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
• Experience in testing, R&D, laboratory environments, or power systems engineering
• Knowledge of electrical power systems and testing principles
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills
• Proactive mindset with willingness to learn and collaborate
• Fluent English and basic German skills (or willingness to learn)
• Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time
