Power Electronics Converter Design Engineer
Zurich, Switzerland (hybrid) | Advanced R&D
Initial 2-year contract | Strong potential for extension
We are supporting a leading Swiss research & technology organisation
looking for a Power Electronics Converter Design Engineer to join an advanced R&D team in Zurich.
This is a hands-on opportunity to develop next-generation power conversion technology
, working from concept and design through to real hardware, testing and characterisation.
- Design and develop power electronic converters
- Optimise, implement and characterise converter systems
- Build, test and validate hardware in a laboratory environment
- Support integration into complex engineering systems
- Analyse performance, troubleshoot and optimise prototypes
- Work alongside engineers and scientists in an interdisciplinary R&D environment
- PhD, MSc or BSc in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics or similar
- For BSc/MSc candidates, relevant professional converter-design experience
- Experience in the design, optimisation, implementation and characterisation of power electronic converters
- Strong knowledge of converter topologies and power electronics hardware
- Experience taking designs from concept/simulation into physical hardware
- Professional English – German is a plus
Experience with any of the following would be particularly interesting:
- High-current /
multiphase DC-DC converters - Cryogenic systems or cryogenic electronics
- Radiation-hardened electronics
- Advanced industrial or scientific power electronics
Candidates from different industries are welcome – strong power electronics converter design experience is what matters most.
