Senior Research And Development Engineer

We are supporting the growth of a medical-device organisation in Switzerland that is strengthening its R&D function and looking to connect with experienced Senior R&D Engineers
.

This is an opportunity for an experienced medical-device engineer to take significant technical ownership across product development, from early-stage concept and design through verification, validation and transfer into manufacturing.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams including Quality, Regulatory, Manufacturing and Clinical/Technical functions, helping shape robust engineering solutions within a highly regulated environment.

• Lead engineering activities across the full medical-device product-development lifecycle.
• Take technical ownership of complex product and component development projects.
• Translate user needs and product requirements into robust, manufacturable engineering solutions.
• Lead design activities including specifications, drawings, design reviews and technical documentation.
• Develop and execute design verification and validation strategies.
• Support design risk-management activities and ensure appropriate risk controls are incorporated into product designs.
• Lead technical investigations, root-cause analysis and design improvements.
• Provide technical input into design-transfer and manufacturing scale-up activities.
• Work closely with Quality and Regulatory teams to ensure compliance with applicable standards and regulatory requirements.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to more junior engineers.
• Contribute to engineering strategy, technology development and continuous product improvement.
• Represent R&D in cross-functional project meetings and technical reviews.
• Support the resolution of complex technical and manufacturing challenges.

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Materials Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Significant R&D/product-development experience within medical devices, Med Tech, diagnostics or another highly regulated engineering environment.
• Strong understanding of design controls and the medical-device product-development lifecycle.
• Demonstrable experience taking products from concept through verification, validation and/or design transfer.
• Professional working proficiency in English;
