Actuary, Risk Manager/Analyst
At Swiss Re's Bangalore office, over 200 actuarial professionals support the Life & Health (L&H) business across global markets. The team is engaged in the full spectrum of actuarial valuation reporting and analysis, from data preparation and modelling to explaining results to senior reporting heads.
About the RoleAs an Actuarial Apprentice, you will contribute to quarterly valuation and reserving activities, including:
- Preparing and maintaining data for valuation models.
- Executing defined modelling processes, applying assumptions, running models, debugging, and validating results.
- Maintaining audit trails and documentation for all validations and checks.
- Ensuring deliverables meet deadlines and quality standards.
- Conducting user acceptance testing for system and model changes.
- Enhancing existing modelling and validation tools, and recommending process improvements.
- Investigating data/modelling issues and reconciling reports.
- Supporting special projects as required.
- Recent graduate (within the last 3 years) with a Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Commerce, Engineering, or related fields.
- No prior formal work experience (internships allowed).
- Preferably enrolled as a student member of an actuarial professional body (India/UK/US).
- Solid understanding of fundamental actuarial concepts.
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and maintain accuracy.
- Eagerness to learn from experienced industry professionals.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and analytical abilities with attention to detail.
- Proactive in identifying issues and supporting colleagues.
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel; knowledge of VB Macros and SQL is a plus.
