Location: Zürich
We are seeking an experienced Data Modeler to support the design and evolution of enterprise-wide data models within a banking or financial services environment. The role focuses on translating business, regulatory, and analytical requirements into high-quality logical and physical data models, aligned with the Common Data Model and overall data strategy.
You will work closely with business stakeholders, data architects, and engineering teams, following an Agile way of working
, to ensure data consistency, quality, and reusability across data products and platforms.
- Capture and document data requirements
, business rules, and data quality requirements - Design, create, and maintain logical and physical data models
- Apply strong data concepts and data modelling principles across initiatives
- Develop and maintain principles and standards for the Common Data Model
- Support data strategy initiatives and contribute to conceptual data models
- Reverse engineer and evaluate existing data models and database structures
- Translate complex business needs into scalable data models
- Define and implement data quality frameworks and validation rules
- Support metadata management and data governance activities (e.g. Collibra)
- Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders in an Agile (Scrum/Kanban) environment
- Minimum 5 years of experience in data modelling
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Proven experience in banking or financial services environments
- Hands-on experience with reverse engineering databases and data models
- Experience with data modelling and preparation tools, including:
- Alteryx
- Dataiku
- Tableau Prep
- Hackolade
- Erwin
- Experience with metadata management tools
, preferably Collibra - Solid experience with database technologies and relational data platforms
- Strong understanding of reference architectures
- Knowledge of banking data products
, data domains, and data classification - Expert SQL and strong PL/SQL skills
- Ability to translate business and data requirements into logical and physical models
- Strong knowledge of data quality frameworks and data governance principles
- Experience working in an Agile way of working
- Excellent English communication skills (spoken and written)
- German language skills are beneficial
