Cradle is a company focused on developing AI‑guided software for the discovery and optimization of proteins.

Proteins are the molecular machines of life, used for many therapeutic, diagnostic, chemical, agricultural and food applications. Designing and optimizing proteins requires significant expert knowledge and manual effort, typically through custom computational and biological tools.

Machine learning is revolutionizing this space by enabling high‑fidelity protein models. At Cradle, we offer a software platform that helps biologists design proteins faster and  customers include biopharma, biotech, agri‑tech, food‑tech, and academia.

We are an experienced team of around 90 people, already having built successful products and with sufficient funding to support several years of runway. The team is distributed between Zurich and Amsterdam and is dedicated to building an excellent team culture.

As a Scientific Advisor within our Customer Success team, you will play a key role in ensuring our customers achieve success with Cradle’s software and services. You’ll act as a trusted partner for biotech and pharmaceutical companies, especially on biotherapeutic and antibody projects, helping to map their program goals to Cradle’s capabilities and maximize the value of our protein‑optimisation software. You will collaborate across engineering, product, and sales to deliver an outstanding customer experience and inform product development.

• Advise on identifying protein optimisation projects within customers’ portfolios that are best suited to the Cradle platform.
• Help translate scientific goals of projects (predominantly biotherapeutics) into objectives for the Cradle platform.
• Gain a foundational understanding of customer assays, workflows, research modalities, and targets.
• Ensure customer data quality and formatting are suitable for machine learning.
• Train customers to use Cradle’s platform.
• Collaborate with engineering to ensure optimal protein designs are delivered.
• Present reports to help customers interpret and assess platform outputs and forecasts.
• Provide recommendations to inform go/no‑go decisions and devise effective project strategies.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with platform users and broader business stakeholders.
• Help existing customers identify additional projects and business units that would benefit from Cradle’s platform, and collaborate with the sales team to enable these projects.

• Measure and monitor customer satisfaction with the product and service.
• Proactively gather customer feedback and keep them informed as feedback drives feature and service improvements.
• Collaborate with product teams to guide development that addresses customer needs.

• PhD in molecular biology, bioengineering, bioinformatics, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in biopharma in a scientific role focused on antibody protein engineering and biophysical/functional assays.
• Deep knowledge of the biopharmaceutical R&D process, methods, and tooling.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex scientific concepts into clear insights.
• Proven ability to build strong relationships with scientists and business leaders.

• Experience with machine learning.
• Experience with non‑antibody protein modalities, especially enzymes.
• Experience in relationship management and/or sales in the biotech or software industry.
• Proficiency in Python and relevant data science libraries (pandas, scikit‑learn, scipy, matplotlib, etc.) and familiarity with SQL.
