Senior MS SQL Database Engineer

We’ve partnered with a leading Swiss organisation to hire a Senior MS SQL Database Engineer. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys designing and operating highly available database platforms while driving technical improvements across a complex enterprise environment.
What you’ll do- Design, implement, and maintain highly available MS SQL Server environments, with exposure to other databases
- Lead database engineering, upgrade, and lifecycle projects.
- Optimise performance, security, monitoring, and disaster recovery.
- Advise internal stakeholders on database architecture and best practices.
- Support application integration and participate in an on‑call rotation.
- Degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Several years (5+) of strong experience with MS SQL Server, performance tuning, security, upgrades, and disaster recovery.
- Proficiency in T‑SQL and Power Shell.
- Experience with Azure SQL Database and Azure SQL Managed Instance.
- Exposure to MariaDB, Oracle, Kafka, or enterprise integration technologies is a plus.
- Fluent German and English.
