Senior MS SQL Database Engineer

We’ve partnered with a leading Swiss organisation to hire a Senior MS SQL Database Engineer. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys designing and operating highly available database platforms while driving technical improvements across a complex enterprise environment.

What you’ll do

Design, implement, and maintain highly available MS SQL Server environments, with exposure to other databases
Lead database engineering, upgrade, and lifecycle projects.
Optimise performance, security, monitoring, and disaster recovery.
Advise internal stakeholders on database architecture and best practices.
Support application integration and participate in an on‑call rotation.

What you’ll bring

Degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or equivalent experience.
Several years (5+) of strong experience with MS SQL Server, performance tuning, security, upgrades, and disaster recovery.
Proficiency in T‑SQL and Power Shell.
Experience with Azure SQL Database and Azure SQL Managed Instance.
Exposure to MariaDB, Oracle, Kafka, or enterprise integration technologies is a plus.
Fluent German and English.
