Kafka Platform Engineer ​/ Operations Specialist (Ref. #26221

For a client in the financial services sector in Zurich, we are looking for an experienced Kafka Platform Engineer / Operations Specialist to support a business-critical Data Integration Platform team.

The assignment is intended to strengthen the team for approximately six months and focuses heavily on Kafka platform operations, production support and integration services.

• Operate, maintain and support the enterprise Apache Kafka streaming platform
• Ensure stability, availability and reliable operation of business-critical integration services
• Monitor Kafka clusters and identify performance or availability issues
• Troubleshoot and resolve incidents within production environments
• Perform platform maintenance and operational engineering activities
• Support application and integration teams using the Kafka platform
• Analyse logs, platform behaviour and system dependencies during incidents
• Contribute to platform optimisation, automation and continuous service improvement
• Support the Managed File Transfer service used for secure data exchange with external partners
• Work within a Dev Ops-oriented Data Integration Platform team
• Participate in operational processes including incident, problem and change management

• Strong hands-on experience with Apache Kafka administration and operations
• Experience operating Kafka platforms in enterprise production environments
• Strong troubleshooting and incident-resolution skills
• Experience with monitoring, platform maintenance and performance optimisation
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and integration platforms
• Good Linux / Unix administration skills
• Experience with Dev Ops practices and operational automation
• Experience supporting business-critical production platforms
