Day-to-dayResponsibilities
As a Senior Application Database Administrator highly specialized in Oracle and Exadata, you will ensure the performance, high availability, security, and scalability of critical Oracle database platforms that support our payment systems, in line with standards such as PCI DSS.
YourKey Responsibilities Will Include Database Administration and Operations
- Administer and optimize Oracle databases on Exadata platforms, including configuration, patching, upgrades, and leveraging Exadata-specific features for high performance.
- Proactively monitor database health, diagnose performance bottlenecks, and resolve incidents to ensure minimal downtime for critical payment processing.
- Conduct root cause analysis and post-incident reviews to prevent recurrence and strengthen overall database resilience
- Implement comprehensive logging, monitoring through Oracle Enterprise Manager, and observability integrations to gain proactive insights into database performance.
- Develop and implement automation for database provisioning, patching, and day[1]to-day operations to improve efficiency and consistency.
- Enhance the consistency, security, and traceability of all database changes.
- Contribute to our Move to Cloud initiative by migrating and managing Oracle Exadata workloads on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and Exadata Cloud services.
- Use Terraform and IaC tools to provision and manage database infrastructure as code across cloud and hybrid environments.
- Collaborate with application development, SRE, and infrastructure teams to align database design, performance, and security with business objectives.
- Communicate database health, capacity planning, risks, and recommendations clearly to both technical and business stakeholders.
- Deliver innovative solutions and provide expert technical direction on complex Oracle database and Exadata challenges
- 10+ years of experience in database administration, with strong expertise in Oracle databases and Oracle Exadata in large-scale, business-critical environments.
- Deep technical knowledge of Oracle database administration, performance tuning, high availability, backup & recovery, patching, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
