Field/Service Technician, Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Site Engineer (f/m/d)
As a Site Engineer at our Zurich data center, you will be a key contributor to the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of our mission‑critical infrastructure. You will own maintenance and repair activities on complex electrotechnical and mechanical systems, ensuring full compliance with regulatory standards, operational procedures, and company values. Your responsibilities include coordinating and supervising subcontractors, executing routine inspections, managing incident responses, and ensuring uninterrupted services in alignment with SLAs and internal benchmarks.
You will handle on‑call duties, mitigate risks, and drive site energy efficiency and process improvement. Additionally, you will provide leadership to on‑site teams, offer mentoring and training to junior staff, and act as the link between cross‑functional departments including customer service, security, and third‑party providers, supporting Zurich site performance and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in mission‑critical operations and maintenance of large‑scale electrotechnical and/or mechanical systems
- Completed technical training or degree (e.g., Bachelor's in Engineering or certified high‑level technical education)
- Proficiency in troubleshooting, test and measurement equipment, and routine infrastructure surveillance
- Skill in managing maintenance tasks and coordinating external service providers
- Solid understanding of BMS systems, SLAs, and energy optimization practices
- Experience supervising and guiding teams of technicians or engineers
- Independent, well‑organized, and able to prioritize in high‑pressure situations
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills; proactive and hands‑on mentality
- Strong communication skills in English (B2+);
German is a plus - Willingness to participate in a 3‑shift pattern and on‑call duty
