Swiss Life Asset Managers is one of Switzerland’s largest institutional asset managers, overseeing CHF 285bn on behalf of the Swiss Life Group and external clients. Its Infrastructure Equity platform, established in 2011, manages more than CHF 10 billion. The team has executed more than 60 direct investments over the past 13 years and currently manages over 40 assets across its various strategies.

The platform invests in core, core+ and value-add infrastructure businesses across OECD markets, with a particular focus on Europe and North America. SLAM is active across a broad set of sectors including clean energy and renewables, utilities, communications, transport and social infrastructure.

We are seeking a Head of Value-Add Infrastructure to lead its dedicated value-add investment strategy.

• Lead the Value-Add strategy by defining sector priorities and originating opportunities in small-cap infrastructure businesses that are driven by secular growth trends
• Lead full-cycle investment execution
• Provide strategic leadership across the Value-Add portfolio. Take leadership responsibility for a small number of portfolio companies
• Drive fundraising efforts for Value-Add Fund II and preparation for Fund III, supporting our sales people and investor relations efforts
• Lead and develop a growing team, fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture, and providing coaching and oversight to support portfolio growth and increased deal activity.

• Strong track record originating and executing direct infrastructure investments, preferably in value-add or higher-growth infrastructure.
• Comfortable with the full lifecycle of infrastructure investing, including shaping value-creation plans and ensuring delivery.
• Broad grounding across multiple infrastructure verticals; the role requires a generalist rather than a single-sector specialist.
• Exposure to European markets preferred; OECD experience essential.
• High degree of autonomy, accountability and commercial judgement.
• able to support management teams while maintaining appropriate challenge.
• Pragmatic, collaborative and comfortable operating with proximity to management teams and day-to-day decision-making. Strong investor mindset.
• Proven ability to manage, develop and motivate a high performing team
