We are supporting a leading global biotechnology company in the search for an experienced Production Planner to join their manufacturing site in Solothurn.

Production Planner

Job description:
  • Develop and maintain daily manufacturing schedules and medium-term production plans.
  • Coordinate production planning activities to meet manufacturing demand.
  • Plan and manage production changeovers and facility readiness activities.
  • Support commissioning, validation, shutdowns and maintenance planning.
  • Monitor production progress, identify constraints and propose solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, Validation and Supply Chain.
  • Ensure accurate planning data and communicate schedule changes to stakeholders.
  • Drive continuous improvement within planning and scheduling processes.
About the customer:

In this role, you will be responsible for production planning and scheduling activities, ensuring manufacturing operations run efficiently while coordinating closely with Production, Quality, Engineering, Validation, Materials and Supply Chain teams. You will play a key role in maintaining production schedules, supporting changeovers, and ensuring manufacturing activities are delivered on time in a highly regulated GMP environment.

Location: Solothurn - 2 days Home office

Duration: 12 months

Start: ASAP

Work model: On-site

Requirements:
  • 3-5+ years of experience in production planning or manufacturing scheduling within a GMP-regulated environment (Must have)
  • Experience in the biotech, pharmaceutical or life sciences industry.
  • Good understanding of manufacturing operations and production changeovers.
  • Knowledge of biologics or protein manufacturing is highly desirable.
  • Experience using ERP systems such as Infor, Oracle, SAP or similar.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Macros are a strong advantage).
  • Degree in Supply Chain, Chemical/Biochemical Engineering or a related scientific/technical discipline.
  • Strong communication, coordination and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proactive, organised and able to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
