Overview
Manager, Valuation Real Estate – Zurich, EY
Join EY Transactions Corporate Finance to lead valuation projects for a global client portfolio.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee and develop valuation projects, generating new business and engaging in go‑to‑market activities.
- Apply technical and business knowledge to ensure high‑quality results for all clients.
- Participate in real‑estate advisory engagements, including financial analyses, cash‑flow modeling, property/portfolio modeling, analytical model reviews, market due diligence, asset valuations, real‑estate appraisals, and appraisal reviews.
- Manage engagements involving multi‑family, residential, office, retail, hotel, warehouse, industrial, mixed‑use, infrastructure and special‑use properties.
- Conduct market research, prepare comprehensive reports and analyze real‑estate documents (site/building plans, leases, appraisals, mortgage underwriting/lending documents).
- Participate in sales and marketing pursuit opportunities.
- A bachelor or master’s degree in real‑estate engineering (ETH/EPFL), architecture, economics or an MBA.
- 6–10 years of relevant experience with at least 4 years in real‑estate valuations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in German and English; proficiency in French is highly advantageous.
- Profound knowledge of the Swiss real‑estate market and strong networking with major Swiss real‑estate owners, institutional investors, banks, insurance companies and pension funds.
- Experience creating complex financial models (cash‑flow/property/portfolio modeling), including DCF, NPV and real‑estate cap rates, and familiarity with real‑estate legislation and fiscal issues.
- Background in real‑estate valuation, acquisition due diligence, asset management, finance or market research.
- Ability to work across M&A and transaction support.
- Innovative, dynamic and outgoing personality. Memberships in professional associations such as RICS are an advantage.
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills; experience with real‑estate databases and financial modeling is preferred.
