Senior Java Specialist

We are looking for an experienced Senior Java Performance Specialist to join a global financial technology environment within the Securities Finance Trading & Collateral domain.

In this role, you will combine strong hands-on Java development skills with a deep focus on system performance and scalability. You will be responsible for building and maintaining enterprise Java applications while ensuring that the platform remains fast, stable, and capable of handling high-volume financial processing.

You will collaborate closely with senior architects, product teams, and distributed engineering teams in an agile, international environment, contributing to the evolution of a modern cloud-native trading platform used across global financial markets.

• Develop, maintain, and enhance enterprise Java systems within the trading and collateral platform
• Identify performance bottlenecks across services, databases, and system components
• Design and implement solutions to improve scalability, throughput, and overall system efficiency
• Participate in and drive performance testing activities, including load and stress analysis
• Work with architects to refine and improve system architecture with a focus on performance
• Optimize existing functionality and, where needed, redesign performance-critical components
• Ensure efficient and reliable data processing, including SQL query optimization
• Contribute to the development of cloud-native and API-driven solutions
• Collaborate with globally distributed agile teams to deliver robust technical solutions
• Ensure systems are capable of operating reliably under high production load

• 5+ years of hands‑on experience in Java enterprise development
• Strong background in backend development with a clear focus on performance and optimization
• Good knowledge of SQL databases (Oracle, Postgre
  
  SQL, or SQL Server)
• Solid experience with Java SE/JEE and Spring Framework ecosystem
• Hands‑on experience with Hibernate/JPA, JMS, and middleware technologies
• Good understanding of software design patterns and enterprise architecture principles
• Experience working with RESTful APIs and distributed systems
• Exposure to Type Script and Angular (v2+) is considered a plus
• Experience working in Agile teams and using test‑driven development practices
• Familiarity with container platforms such as Kubernetes or Open Shift is a plus
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in international environments
