Backend Lead XLab

Qualifications

• Strong, quality-oriented mindset and deep understanding of “why this matters” for the end user.
• Proven ability to lead and grow people (coaching, feedback, accountability) in a distributed setup.
• Excellent stakeholder skills: communicate clearly with senior leadership and influence decisions with facts, clarity, and persuasion.
• Fluency in Swiss German and English (required).
• Deep knowledge of Java and the Java Virtual Machine (JVM).
• Experience building microservice-based backends using Java + Spring Boot.
• Practical experience with Docker and container orchestration, preferably Kubernetes.

• Lead an agile team (Kanban/Scrum) across different locations, ensuring continuous delivery of new functionality, efficiency, compliance with engineering standards, and building a quality-based development culture.
• Act as the main point of contact between the technical team and management, translating business needs into technical direction and vice versa.
• Own the codebase, tech stack, and applications throughout the full lifecycle.
• Perform backend development with Java and Spring Boot.
• Design, build, automate, deploy, and maintain robust and secure client-facing wealth management applications.
• Drive Dev Ops practices: deployment automation, CI/CD, reliability, monitoring, and operational excellence.
