Staff Software Engineer, Merchant Shopping, Local Inventory Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience programming in C++, Java, Python, Kotlin or Go.
  • 5 years of experience testing and launching software products.
  • 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
  • Experience integrating generative AI tools or LLM interfaces into workflows.
Preferred qualifications
  • Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • 8 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
  • 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
  • Experience with data collection for Search/Geo-related usecases.
  • Experience with leadership: nudging of team culture; coaching; team motivation.

Responsibilities
  • Provide technical leadership on high-impact projects.
  • Own software components, systems, and features with significant impact, from initial brainstorming of project ideas to design, implementation, testing, launch and beyond.
  • Manage the issues of scaling systems to support larger user bases.
  • Help build and maintain our team culture of respect, collaboration, and attention to detail.
  • Work closely with our Technical Lead, Product Manager, other cross-functional partners, and other teams within Commerce, Ads, Geo, and other areas.
