Senior Security Engineer, Spam & Abuse

Overview

Snap Inc. is a technology company focused on camera-driven experiences. We are seeking a Senior Security Engineer to join the Spam and Abuse team. The role is based in our Zurich, Switzerland office and involves prototyping, developing, and deploying technical solutions to ensure only approved applications can interact with our platform, while solving mobile application security challenges and scaling defenses for millions of Snap chatters.

• Develop Snapchat mobile security features.
• Enumerate attack vectors on the mobile application, identify weaknesses, and provide technical solutions to address gaps.
• Build tools and services that support the broader Spam & Abuse mission.
• Collaborate with other parts of Snap Inc. that require mobile security expertise.
• Assist with Spam & Abuse or Security incidents as needed.

• Solid foundation in application security.
• Strong ability to reason about mobile app security problems.
• Ability to deliver production-quality software engineering.
• Passion for learning and helping others.
• Commitment to user privacy and security.

• Bachelor in a technical field such as Computer Science (or equivalent experience).
• 4+ years of experience in a security or software engineering role.
• Strong development knowledge with a proven track record of production-quality software.

• Professional experience doing Android or iOS development.
• Professional experience doing backend development;
  Go experience is a plus.
• Ability to build secure code in C/C++ is a bonus.
• Experience with large-scale spam and abuse defenses is a bonus.
• Skills in analyzing and organizing technical data.
