Job Description

As vector8 continues to grow, we are hiring a client-facing Senior Applied AI Consultant (Banking) to help shape, and deliver AI solutions within complex banking environments. This is a highly embedded role for someone who can work closely with clients on site, understand their technical landscape quickly, and turn strategic opportunities into working solutions.

As a Senior Consultant in our Applied AI Strategy Practice, you will play a leading role in shaping, designing, and delivering transformative AI solutions for clients across the Swiss Banking sector.

Working at the intersection of strategy, innovation, and execution, you will guide clients from early-stage AI vision and opportunity assessment through to business case development, operating model transformation, proof-of-concept delivery, and production-scale AI implementation.

You will bring strong consulting experience gained within a professional services or in-house banking environment, combining commercial awareness, client leadership, and structured problem-solving with a strong understanding of how AI solutions are designed, developed, and deployed in production.

This role is particularly suited to someone who understands how to bring modern AI capabilities - including LLM applications, agentic systems, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) - into enterprise settings where security, compliance, reliability, and interoperability are critical.

With a broad perspective on the AI landscape, you will challenge conventional thinking, spark new possibilities, and lead high-value conversations that turn business strategy into clear AI initiatives, practical use cases, and measurable outcomes.

The role is broad in scope, with responsibilities spanning the following areas:

• Strong experience in a Consultant, forward-deployed, solutions engineering, or client-facing technical role.
• Proven ability to orchestrate and ship high-quality demos, prototypes, and production-grade solutions in enterprise settings.
• Experience working with engineering teams, building and delivering technical products. You will have a working knowledge of many technical concepts relevant to delivering these solutions in enterprise environments.
• You will have a passion for AI, with experience adopting AI into your own work, and delivering AI solutions into businesses. You will have a positive curiosity balanced with a critical awareness of risks and limitations of AI and agentic capabilities.
• Hands-on background in modern AI systems, including Large Language Models (LLMs), agentic systems / AI agents, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), prompt engineering, orchestration, evaluation, and applied AI architectures.
• Experience working within or alongside banking, financial services, or other highly regulated environments.
• Strong understanding of Swiss banking expectations, governance standards, and regulated delivery contexts.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with a high degree of professionalism in client-facing environments.
• Experience delivering AI or data products directly into banking or financial services organizations.
• Familiarity with enterprise architecture, cloud platforms, and secure deployment patterns in regulated environments.
• Experience influencing technical roadmaps in ambiguous or fast-evolving delivery contexts.
• Comfortable balancing strategic thinking with hands‑on execution.
• Exposure to model governance, data privacy, auditability, and operational controls relevant to regulated AI deployments.
• Fluent German is required;
  Swiss German is strongly preferred.
