In the spirit of our SYGN value to "grow and win together", we fully embrace an equal opportunity mindset in the way we onboard, develop and promote our team members.
Aboutthe role
You will lead the Core Banking Tech team, which provides the foundation connecting our products to the platform our business depends on. Your team develops the services that enable digital asset products across the company to integrate with our core banking system in a clean, reliable, and scalable way. You will work closely with teams across the organization, supporting their integrations and helping deliver the quality and security expected of a crypto bank.
Everything we do comes back to one goal: serving our clients transparently, reliably, and securely, backed by the trust that sits at the heart of banking.
As tech lead, you are comfortable wearing two hats - technical and managerial - advancing our integrations across business domains while growing the engineers who build them.
Your main responsibilities- Lead and grow the team. Guide delivery, coach engineers, and help build the team you'll work alongside - from shaping roles to bringing great people on board
- Support people's growth. Set clear goals together, hold meaningful 1:1s, and give honest, caring feedback that helps each engineer do their best work and grow their career
- Stay close to the code. Keep your hands in the work by writing and reviewing high-quality, well-tested code, and facilitating design discussions the team captures in RFCs and ADRs
- Champion quality and security. Help the team weave secure coding and the SSDLC into how they work
- Keep our systems dependable. Work with the team to safeguard the availability, resilience, and observability of our services
- Shape planning and steady delivery. Partner with Product Managers and Architects on the roadmap, smooth out cross-team dependencies, and protect the team's focus so they can deliver predictably
- Manage stakeholders across the value stream. Build trusted relationships with Product, Architecture, Operations, Compliance, and other engineering teams; create transparency on constraints, dependencies, and trade-offs, and help stakeholders understand what is feasible, when, and why
- Lead through ambiguity and changing priorities. Bring structure to unclear or fast-moving situations, clarify options and trade-offs, and help the team stay focused while adapting to business, regulatory, and operational needs
- Act as a dependable integration partner. Help other teams understand how to integrate with Core Banking services, anticipate downstream impacts, and resolve dependencies without creating unnecessary complexity
- Nurture a safe, energizing culture. Create an environment where every team member feels heard, supported, and empowered to contribute meaningfully
You'll thrive here if you find energy in both technical and people leadership, enjoy taking a team through the full journey - from designing solutions to running them in production - and care about building quality and security in from the start rather than bolting them on later.
- Experience delivering and operating critical systems
- Experience leading or mentoring an engineering team, with a genuine care for quality and security
- Proven track record in architecting resilient systems, with focus on maintainability, observability and stability of those systems
- Strong hands-on skills in Java (17+) with Quarkus or Spring
- A knack for designing flexible, robust REST APIs with an API-first mindset
- A good feel for microservices and event-driven architecture, building for…
