Job Overview
VeVa Soldaat Genie Constructie (Force Support Engineer – Bouw/Infra)
The Royal Netherlands Army’s Genie units are the armed forces’ general contractors for road and water construction. They mine, clear mines, build and destroy bridges, roads, airfields, shelters, observation posts and combat formations. They also perform CBRN decontamination.
As a Soldier in the Construction Genie you will work with a range of construction tools and heavy machinery such as bulldozers and cranes. Your broad technical knowledge and improvisation skills will help you complete almost any job and advise the commanding officer.
Responsibilities
Mine laying and clearance
Construction and demolition of bridges, roads, and airfields
Building shelters, observation posts, and combat positions
CBRN decontamination
Maintenance of equipment and tools
Participation in military exercises and possible deployment
Qualifications
Minimum MBO 2 or 3 qualification
Age between 17 and 28 years 11 months
Near completion of VeVa O&V level 2 training
Ability to work with a broad range of construction tools and heavy machinery
Strong teamwork and problem‑solving skills
Good physical condition to pass the physical fitness test
Benefits
Monthly salary €2,950 – €3,150 (incl. VEB allowance)
Annual bonus €4,800
23–30 days of vacation per year
Free military driving licence B
Eligibility for a performance bonus at the end of the service term
Training and career progression within the Defence organisation

Oirschot or Havelte
Start dates: Multiple start dates are available. The specific start date will be determined after psychological, medical and security checks are completed.
