Job Description
ECU Department of Anthropology is currently seeking a Federal Work Study student to serve as a lab assistant for Fall 2026 and Spring 2027.
This student will provide support to faculty and staff by assisting with laboratory activities, collections management, and general office operations as assigned.
Duties Include:
1. Assisting faculty with laboratory projects and research activities
2. Preparing, organizing, and maintaining laboratory materials, equipment, and collections
3. Assisting with artifact processing, inventory, and data entry
4. Helping maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment
5. Assisting students, faculty, and staff in person and over the phone.
6. Performing general office duties, including filing, copying, scanning, and other administrative tasks
7. Completing additional departmental projects
GPA Requirement
GPA Requirement Minimum of 3.0
A major in Anthropology, excellent customer service skills, being detailed oriented, and having the willingness to work with various groups of people is preferred.
A graduate student is preferred; however, all students will be considered.
License/certification required
