ISSOS, Summer School 2026 at St Andrews & Cambridge Universities:
Located in the world-famous university town of St. Andrews on the beautiful east coast of Scotland, ISSOS offers three-week summer school programs for international students aged between 13 - 18 years of age. Our residential summer camps for teenagers are held in July and August and provide a balanced summer program of academics, fun and culture. We offer Creative Writing as an academic subject that can be taken as part of our summer school in St. Andrews.

Location:  St Andrews is located on the east coast of Fife in Scotland, approximately 50 miles (80km) north-east of Edinburgh, and 80 miles (130 km) north-east of Glasgow. All students will be collected by a uniformed member of staff at the selected international airport. 

Summer Creative Writing Course (Available at St. Andrews only)
Students choose one academic subject and one elective subject to study during their 3-week stay. Students in St. Andrews have the option of taking a Creative Writing course as an academic subject.

The choice of electives available in St. Andrews to be studied alongside Creative Writing are Golf, Theatre, Tennis, Film or Art. 

Learn to write in one of Scotland's most inspiring environments! The ISSOS summer creative writing course is designed for students of all levels and interests who have a desire to challenge themselves creatively and explore their potential.

Students will take part in introductory and advanced workshops which will introduce them to all phases of the writing process, including generating ideas, writing and revising drafts and editing.

All students will work together to produce ISSOS's creative writing magazine which will include a selection of their creative work.

During the Creative Writing course, you will:
• Discover writing through a range of creative projects including poetry, essays and short stories
• Study the work of individuals and see how to use the world around you as a source of ideas and inspiration
• Benefit from regular writing practice and balanced critical evaluation
• Learn tools and strategies needed to discover your own voice
• Produce the summer school magazine and get your work in print
