Child's Play Touring Theatre:
Child's Play Touring Theatre, based in Chicago, Illinois, is a touring theatre for children offering summer camps for children aged 7-14. We provide children with the opportunity to create original stories and poems, adapt them from page to stage, and perform an original production for family and friends. Encouraging skills in ensemble building, self-esteem, awareness and problem solving, Child’s Play teaching artists, inspire campers by providing instruction in writing, acting, improvisation, juggling, movement, dance, and music.

Every year, Child’s Play conducts summer camps for children, combining story creation, creativity and drama components that culminate into a final performance. From writing to rehearsal to performance, Child’s Play camp is a unique experience that encourages ensemble building, self-esteem, creativity, and problem solving. Campers develop skills in acting, improvisation, singing, music, dance, juggling, mime, writing, stage direction and more. Child’s Play ensures a fun, safe and supportive camp. Over the course of the camp, young performers are immersed into a world of theatrical creation, offering them a safe environment in which to share their talents, discover new talents, and broaden their knowledge of the creative process.

History:
Child’s Play was founded in 1978, and since then we have been dedicated to performing stories and poems written by young people. We have performed to an audience of over 4 million from Alaska to Florida.
