ISSOS, Summer School 2026 at St Andrews & Cambridge Universities:
ISSOS offers three-week summer school programs in the world-famous university towns of St. Andrews on the beautiful east coast of Scotland and Cambridge in England. Our residential summer camps are available to international students from around the world aged between 13 - 18 years of age during the months of July and August. Students in both Cambridge and St. Andrews have the option of taking Debating as an academic subject.

All students will be collected by a uniformed member of staff at the selected international airport. St Andrews is a coastal town located approximately 50 miles (80km) north-east of Edinburgh, and 80 miles (130 km) north-east of Glasgow. The city of Cambridge is situated approximately 50 miles (80 km) north-east of London. 

Debating Course (Available in St. Andrews & Cambridge):
Students must choose one academic subject and one elective subject to study during their 3-week program. Students have the opportunity to take a debating course as an academic subject.

The elective courses that can be taken alongside the debating course are:

•  Cambridge:  Theatre, Tennis, Photography or Outdoor Leadership

• St. Andrews:  Art, Golf, Theatre, Film or Tennis

The ISSOS Debating course is guaranteed to inspire students to discover their voice and develop the skills as well as confidence to use it!

The three-week course combines interactive workshops with professional coaching and a variety of informal and formal debating opportunities to create an exhilarating and stimulating experience.

Through the development of skills including oral communication, effective argumentation and critical thinking this debating course will enable students to acquire and enhance valuable abilities.

On a personal level, debating encourages students to express themselves with confidence and flair not just in the classroom but in all aspects of their lives.

During the Summer Debating Program, you will:
• Discover your voice and acquire the ability and confidence to use it
• Learn techniques and structures from a leading university debates coach
• Acquire and enhance valuable abilities — including effective argumentation and critical thinking
• Partake in energetic debates on exciting contemporary issues of your choice
• Debate in the University's historic debating chambers
