Is your child or teenager passionate about playing drums? If you are searching for a drums summer camp in the UK, Language and Music for Life (LMFL) provide an intensive summer music and language camp in Wales that includes quality percussion-based instruction from world-class teachers. Designed for highly motivated musicians of all ages (children aged 5+, teenagers & adults), this 2-week specialised course offers training in classical music, jazz, and foreign languages. It is ideal for young musicians from around the world preparing for auditions, exams, and competitions. In 2018, our summer music and language course will be hosted by Llandovery College, a co-educational day and boarding school in Llandovery, a market town in beautiful Carmarthenshire in south-west Wales, UK. Our main course is 2 weeks in duration, or 3 weeks with our optional, intensive Pre-Course.
Players will have 10 hours of drum classes - 1 hour of private tuition per day.
LMFL also offers a Drums Workshop (10 hours), and Jazz Sessions (10 hours).
In addition, our young musicians can choose to study Music Composition, Orchestra Conducting, Music Theory, Chamber Music, Choir and more.
LMFL offers tuition in a wide range of strings, wind, and brass instruments, including guitar & bass (electric & acoustic), cello, violin, viola, harp, piano, oboe, clarinet, saxophone and more.
Group teaching for children is by age and level. Very young students can be beginners in their second instrument as long as they are not beginners in the first instrument.
Our students also have the opportunity to improve their language skills in English, Spanish, German, French, Italian or Mandarin Chinese. They will learn either in small groups, or private lessons with our qualified and experienced language tutors.
LMFL provides our students with opportunities to take renowned Trinity College London exams in both music and/or English language.
Young musicians under 12 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. However, LMFL will accept unaccompanied children from the age of 11 who are at an advanced level and known to us from attending a previous LMFL course.
