Higher National Certificate (HNC):
The Higher National Certificate in Business (HNC) is at Level 4 in the UK Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF). This qualification has 8 Units to build knowledge of fundamental business subjects. It is designed to give you the opportunity to learn up-to-date business skills, and to provide a qualification that will enhance your career prospects. The 8 Units are the same as the first year of the HND, and HNC holders can “top up” to an HND by completing 8 further Units.

Higher National Diploma (HND):
The Higher National Diploma in Business (HND) is a modular Level 5 business programme equivalent to the first two years of an Honours Degree. The HND has 16 Units and traditionally takes two years to complete. With one year extra study at a UK University it can become a BA Honours Degree. SBS has a partnership agreement with Bournemouth University, who offer the BA top up by distance learning.
